VIENNA (Sputnik) – The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE)’s Permanent Council adopted a declaration on Tuesday condemning the murder of Andrey Karlov, Russia’s ambassador to Turkey, the Russian envoy to the OSCE said.
"Russia called an emergency meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council. We proposed to adopt a declaration in the wake of the tragic events in Ankara … condemning this hideous act of violence," Alexander Lukashevich told RIA Novosti in Vienna. "This document was adopted unanimously."
On Monday, Turkish police officer Mevlut Mert Altintas killed Karlov at an art gallery exhibition in Ankara. Three other people were injured. The Russian Foreign Ministry described the attack as an act of terrorism.
