MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russia's Aerospace Forces plan to build up groups on strategic directions by 2018 and create a closed radar field of a missile warning system, First Deputy Commander of the Aerospace Forces Lt. Gen. Pavel Kurachenko said Tuesday.
"At the first stage, there are plans to build up Aerospace Forces groups on strategic directions and complete aircraft transfer to the division-regiment structure, to create a closed radar field of the missile warning system's ground group, begin deploying elements of the system to counter space systems, equipped with weapons on new physical principles," Kurachenko said during a scientific conference in Moscow.
