Greetings. I've been compiling my thoughts and ideas in journals. I call these writings StickyNotes after the colored and sometimes ruled notepads with adhesive backing commonly found in office supply stores. I don't claim the ideas to be profound but neither are they always overly simple. They are meant to be thought-provoking and, hopefully, edifying. They are referred to as "Thoughts from the Collective Consciousness" because some of them are my thoughts. Some could be your thoughts, and some might be from other authors, in which case an attribution to the author is made.
A hand-written note and of fully digital version of it are included with this post in order to provide you with an idea of the format. I call this first StickyNote "War and Peace".
It can be read as follows: "War is not worth living for but Peace is worth dying for."
As you can see, the message is too short for a poem and not big enough for a book. Yet, it's an idea worth sharing rather than keeping locked away in a journal and I invite you to submit your own such thoughts and ideas.
This blog is our opportunity to give back to Sputnik News, to Russia, and to each other, our very best thoughts.
It's also a way to encourage the fading art of writing. Yet, you're welcome to provide purely digital submissions as well if you prefer.
So, what's Your StickyNote?
Have you been filling up journals for a book that you might never write? Do you have a sentence or two not big enough for a poem or a story not big enough for a book? If you write it down, sign it, scan it, and send it in1 —along with a title and digital translation. I will consider ADDing it to this blog. Thank you for your interest and participation.
Sincerely, Harold Jay Hoover (A.K.A. Guy Loginin)
