Gunman Reportedly Detained After Trying to Enter US Embassy in Turkey
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov was killed by a gunman during a photo exhibition opening in Ankara. Three other people were also injured in the attack. The Russian Foreign Ministry called the incident an act of terrorism.

"Mission Turkey informs US citizens that Embassy Ankara, Consulate General Istanbul, and Consulate Adana will re-open Wednesday, December 21 on a limited-operation basis," the message stated on Wednesday. "Only emergency consular services will be provided."

The message comes after the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey, and the arrest of an armed man who fired shots outside the US embassy in Ankara on Monday.
