WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – In separate attacks Monday, Russian’s ambassador to Turkey, Andrey Karlov, was shot dead by a gunman while attending an art gallery event in the Turkish capital, Ankara, and nine people were killed when a truck was driven into shoppers at a Christmas market in Berlin, Germany.
In Jordan, 10 people, including four security guards, three policemen and a tourist, were killed by gunmen at Kerak Castle, a tourist site near the capital, Amman.
“In touch with counterparts in Jordan, Turkey, and Germany,” McGurk, the designated White House official dealing with the global coalition against Daesh, said in a Twitter message Monday. “US stands ready to provide appropriate support for ongoing investigations.”

In another message, McGurk acknowledged that countries must work together against ideologies that inspire and glorify acts of terrorism and mass killing.
“Unequivocally condemn terrorist atrocities last 48 hours in Kerak, Ankara, Berlin. All must unite against ideology glorifying mass murder,” the US official wrote.
