YEREVAN (Sputnik) — According to the statement, the two sides are expected to sign "a number of documents on improving bilateral relations in a number of areas."
"The presidents of the two countries will make statements at the close of the talks and will also take part in the Armenian-Iranian business forum," the press service said.
The Iranian president will also meet Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan during his visit.
The two countries are also cooperating on a number of economic projects.
In December last year, Armenia, Georgia, Iran and Russia signed a memorandum on increasing control over the mutual exchange of electric energy, which included stipulations on the creation of a North-South energy corridor. In April, the four countries' energy ministers agreed to a roadmap to create the corridor by 2019. Other projects include an international transport corridor linking Asia and Europe as well as a railroad linking the two countries and opening Armenia to international trade flows.
