16:27 GMT 23.12.2016 (Updated: 11:27 GMT 06.08.2022) President-elect Donald Trump is considering Tom Bossert, former deputy homeland security advisor to President George W. Bush, to be his homeland security and counterterrorism advisor, US media reported on Friday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — According to a source who spoke with Politico, the appointment of Bossert is nearly a done deal.
Trump met with Bossert at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida on Thursday, along with his national security advisor Michael Flynn, chief of staff Reince Priebus and chief strategist Steve Bannon.
