MOSCOW (Sputnik) — After the United Kingdom curtailed cooperation with Russia's FSB, talking about joint fight against terrorism is difficult, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday at annual press conference.
"How can we unite our efforts if there sanctions against us and we use counter measures. If our cooperation in this and that field is being curtailed, if, for example, the UK partners stopped cooperation with FSB entirely. How can we talk of effective work on the counter-terrorism track. We can not. As a result we are missing heavy strikes. I do really hope that all of this [cooperation] will be relaunched," Putin said.
He stressed that the terrorist threat could be only overcome through joint efforts.
