Terror Threat in Germany High Even After Berlin Attack Suspect Killed - Minister
14:32 GMT 23.12.2016 (Updated: 16:51 GMT 23.12.2016) The terrorist threat in Germany remains high even after Anis Amri, suspected of having staged the Berlin truck ramming attack, was killed, German Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere told reporters on Friday.
BERLIN (Sputnik) – Earlier on Friday, Italian Interior Minister Marco Minniti said that Amri was killed in Milan. The incident occurred at about 3 a.m. (02:00 GMT) when Amri opened fire following a police request to show his documents.
"After the current successful investigation the terrorist threat to Germany was not unfortunately removed, it remains high," de Maiziere said.

On Monday, a
truck rammed into the crowd at a Berlin Christmas market in the center of the city, killing 12 people and injuring 49 more. The country's interior ministry has labeled the incident a terrorist attack.
The suspected perpetrator, a 24-year-old Tunisian Anis Amri, was officially put on the wanted list in Germany and Europe. Germany promised 100,000 euros ($104,000) award for any information about the suspect’s location.
