WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Two additional strikes near the Syrian cities of Ayn Isa and Deir ez-Zor destroyed three Daesh supply routes and an oil well head.
"Near Ar Raqqah, eight strikes engaged three ISIL [Daesh] tactical units; destroyed six oil storage tanks, two VBIEDs, and destroyed a technical vehicle; and damaged a supply route, a fighting position, and a truck," the release stated on Friday.
In Iraq, the coalition conducted nine airstrikes near the cities of Bashir, Haditha, Mosul, Rawah and Sinjar. The strikes destroyed Daesh vehicles, supply caches, buildings, a VBIED and a tank.
The US-led coalition of more than 60 nations has been conducting airstrikes against Daesh in Syria and Iraq since 2014. The strikes in Syria are not authorized by the government of President Bashar Assad or the United Nations Security Council.
