The Moscow Metro has made a special gift to Muscovites and visitors alike, a new train covered in New Year decorations! The specially themed train entered service on December 28 and runs on the Circle Line.
The train's first passengers were greeted by characters from popular Russian fairy tales, who wished them a happy New Year and gave out sweets to children.
Russia’s chief Father Frost and Snegurochka (The Snow Maiden) came from the city of Ustyug in the north of the country to take part in the launch of the New Year train.
On New Year’s eve the Moscow subway will work around the clock.
