The story in question, “The Modest Start of a Massive March,” was about a planned woman’s march during President-Elect Donald Trump’s impending inauguration.
A Washington Post representative apologized for the mistake, saying "we made a mistake on our cover this morning and we’re very embarrassed. We erroneously used a male symbol instead of a female symbol." They tweeted a replacement cover later that day.
