SpaceX Launches Falcon 9 Despite September's Explosion
17:53 GMT 14.01.2017 (Updated: 11:29 GMT 06.08.2022) The US aerospace company SpaceX has launched its Falcon 9 rocket carrying an Iridium satellite first time following the September accident. On September 1, a SpaceX-built Falcon 9 rocket with a commercial satellite on board exploded during fueling on the launch pad at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
The SpaceX rocket Falcon 9 was launched on Saturday from the Vandenberg launch site in the US state of California.
The rocket was launched at 9:54 a.m. local time (17:54 GMT).
It carried 10 communication satellites Iridium Next, belonging to the Iridium Communications company. That was the first Falcon 9 launch since an incident occurred in fall 2016.
