18:29 GMT 20.01.2017 (Updated: 11:30 GMT 06.08.2022) US President Donald Trump's administration will focus on developing both defensive and offensive capabilities in cyber space to ensure the resilience of the US national security systems, according to a new defense plan released by the White House on Friday.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Trump was sworn into office as the 45th president of the United States earlier on Friday.
"Cyberwarfare is an emerging battlefield, and we must take every measure to safeguard our national security secrets and systems," the White House stated. "We will make it a priority to develop defensive and offensive cyber capabilities at our US Cyber Command, and recruit the best and brightest Americans to serve in this crucial area."
