HOMS (Sputnik) — The historic city was recaptured last December by militants from the Daesh terrorist group, outlawed in Syria, Russia and other nations.
"Some 1.5 tonnes of food – flour, rice, sugar and canned meat – were delivered to the refugee camp," the spokesperson told reporters in Homs.
The western Syrian city of Homs hosts 30 camps for internally displaced people. The camp visited on Friday by Russian aid workers is located in the Baba Amr district and accommodates around 130 Palmyra fugitives.
