First Concert in Palmyra's Ancient Amphitheater Since Liberation
18:00 GMT 06.03.2017 (Updated: 19:29 GMT 19.10.2022) After months of occupation by Daesh terrorists, the ancient wonders of Palmyra had been severely damaged if not destroyed. Despite the devastation, peaceful life is returning to Palmyra, with musicians flocking to the ancient site to perform traditional Syrian music.
On March 2, the Syrian army backed by the Russian military aircraft operating in Syria regained control over Palmyra. When commenting on the military operation, the Russian General Staff said that Russian Special Forces and aviation played a crucial role in Palmyra's liberation.
