Dan Dale, a Sun reporter on the scene, says police appear to have detonated four controlled explosions, the fourth being the loudest.
The BBC has shared a picture of what they say is one of the attackers who was shot by police, who had canisters strapped to his body. The explosions are believed to be connected with these possible suicide belts.

One of the men suspected of being behind a deadly attack on London was shown in a photograph lying on the ground with canisters strapped to his body after he was shot by police, the BBC said. The suspected attacker was shown on the ground outside the Wheatsheaf pub in Borough Market near London Bridge.
Another man can be seen lying on the ground a short distance away in the photograph.
London was hit with a complex terrorist attack Saturday night when a van traveling south on the London Bridge at about 50 mph hit several people, killing at least one. Reports claim that three men exited the van after it stopped and stabbed an unknown number of bystanders. At least two suspects have been apprehended or killed, and a massive manhunt is underway for a third.
Police are continuing the search for additional suspects.
