It has been five years since Julian Assange “settled” in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and slightly over a year since he received his feline friend.
The kitty’s gender is a mystery wrapped in a riddle. Upon its arrival to the embassy, it was reported to be a female cat. Sometime later, media buzzed that the cat was actually a male named James. As for now, the “whiskerblower” is considered to be a girl... wearing ties.
From time to time, the Embassy Cat steals the spotlight from its owner. Paparazzi often capture it peeking from windows. The tabby is also said to spend much of its time sleeping in a top hat and wandering around the embassy.
The fancy feline likes to get dressed up for special occasions. The collars and colorful ties the moggy wears always find a lot of admiration online, while the most suspicious internet users even try to find a special message in the cat’s outfits.
The frisky kitty also loves shredding WikiLeaks releases and making puns about “pawlitics.”
