CNN's U-Turn on Russia Coverage
12:45 GMT 26.06.2017 (Updated: 11:45 GMT 06.08.2022) Rich Barbieri, the executive editor of CNNMoney, sent out an email on Saturday issuing new publishing rules for stories dealing with Russia, after retracting a Russia story one day before.
The new CNN policy comes after the news outlet had to retract a published story that purported to connect Anthony Scaramucci, a Trump ally, to a state-run Russian bank. In an official statement, the news network claimed the story "did not meet CNN's editorial standards."
US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that the news network is "failing," calling its reporting "fake news."
