MAUERBACH (Sputnik) — The OSCE informal ministerial meeting kicked off Tuesday in Austria's Mauerbach at the initiative of Chairman-in-Office and Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz. The meeting's motto is "Building Trust through Dialogue and Co-operation."

"We appreciate the opportunity to hold a meeting, to see how our bilateral relations are being developed," Lavrov noted.

The minister added that the talks touched upon the security issues.

"And, of course, it is a good opportunity to discuss the issues of the European and global security," Lavrov said.

The minsters from 57 OSCE member states are expected to discuss threats to security, the fight against terrorism and extremism, and the current and future challenges to security in the OSCE area. On Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the Russian party was expected to raise the issue of the NATO policy on military and political containment of Russia.
