WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Unnamed sources have told ABC News the Trump administration could make a decision in the next several days whether to strip Kaspersky Lab from the General Services Administration's list of outside vendors whose products are approved for US government agencies' use.
In recent months, some US officials have expressed concern about the alleged use of Kaspersky Lab’s anti-virus software by Russian intelligence services to steal and manipulate user files.
On July 30, Kaspersky Lab CEO Eugene Kaspersky stated on his blog that any concerns about his company are based on ungrounded speculation and all sorts of other made-up things. Kaspersky reiterated he and his company have no ties to any government, and we have never helped, nor will help, any government with cyber-espionage efforts.
Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov said earlier that response measures cannot be ruled out if the United States banned the use of Kaspersky Lab products.
