BERLIN (Sputnik) — Two Russian citizens have been detained in the northern German city of Hamburg in connection with disturbances at the Group of 20 (G20) summit last week, the public prosecutor's office in Hamburg told Sputnik.
"I can confirm that there are two Russians being processed in our department," the prosecutor's office spokeswoman said Wednesday.
The two Russian citizens, 20 and 30 years of age and both residents of Moscow, have been charged with "causing grievous bodily harm and resisting law enforcement officials," she specified.
The Russian Embassy in Berlin said on social media that no Russian diplomatic missions in Germany have been officially notified of the detentions.
Four of the previously arrested Russian citizens have been released after the mass demonstrations on Friday and Saturday in which 476 law enforcement officials were injured.
