ANKARA (Sputnik) — Daesh (banned in Russia) terrorists have committed several acts of terror inside Turkey. The latest attack was on New Year’s Eve, when a nightclub in Istanbul was attacked, leaving 39 people dead. On February 6, Turkey made sweeping arrests of 820 Daesh suspects across the country.
"An operation to arrest an IS [Daesh] suspect was carried out in the Meram district of the city of Konya in the morning of July 12. During the operation, the militants inside the house opened fire at the police. Five terrorists were eliminated during the crossfire and four policemen were lightly wounded. Five Kalashnikov rifles, a pistol and a sizable amount of ammunition were found in the house. Identification of the bodies is underway," Konya governor's office said in a statement.
It was reported Friday that Daesh terrorists executed scores of men, women and children who sought to flee the area controlled by the extremist group.
