WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly and Bahrain's Interior Minister Sheikh Rashed bin Abdulla al Khalifa discussed in Washington, DC the need to boost information sharing between their two countries, the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said statement.
"Secretary Kelly and Sheikh Rashed spoke about the need to increase information sharing between the Department and Ministry of Interior, and Secretary Kelly offered his support to work with Bahrain in the fight against terrorism," the DHS said in the statement after the two officials met for talks on Wednesday.
Kelly and Rashed discussed the importance of continuing security cooperation, particularly relating to challenges Bahrain faces from regional threats, the statement said.
The Department of Homeland Security is committed to working with Bahrain's Interior Ministry to further shared international security interests, the statement added.
