The photo was published on Friday July 14 and within minutes the image had clocked more than 1.5 million likes and garnered thousands of comments. Beyoncé's fans all over the world congratulated the couple on their "so beautiful" babies.
"Sir Carter and Rumi 1 month today," wrote Beyoncé on her Instagram. In the photo, she is standing in a kind of seaside garden. Surrounding the singer is a plethora of flowers, a flowing blue veil adorns her blonde locks while wrapped in floral swaddling are the two small infants: Sir and Rumi.
The twins were born on June 14. The couple didn't officially announce the birth, but on June 19 Beyoncé's father, Mathew Knowles, posted a birthday message to the twins. The Instagram post is the first official announcement.

The picture also confirmed the babies' names, with the little girl named Rumi and the boy — Sir Carter — monikers which the singer has reportedly trademarked, according to British tabloid The Sun.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z married in 2008 in New York. In 2012 Beyoncé gave birth to a daughter, Blue Ivy.
Imagine asking me to do anything at work tomorrow but stare at Beyoncé and her twins all day

Many people were confused by Beyoncé's caption. Why did she write "Sir Carter and Rumi" rather than "Sir and Rumi Carter"? After all, if the boy's name is Sir Carter, shouldn't his full name actually be Sir Carter Carter?
LISTEN Y'ALL, SHE SPECIFICALLY PUT SIR CARTER AND RUMI, NOT SIR AND RUMI CARTER. WE WILL REFER TO KING #1 BY HIS COMPLETE NAME, SIR CARTER pic.twitter.com/37bgVVzHWI

Beyoncé wrote "Sir Carter and Rumi" not "Sir and Rumi Carter" so is Rumi not a Carter or is Sir Carter Sir Carter Carter? pic.twitter.com/UTOvLLupP4
