WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US awarded a defense contractor nearly $50 million contract to carry out engineering upgrades to 276 Bradley Fighting Vehicles, the Department of Defense said in a press release.
"LOC Performance [of] Plymouth, Minnesota was awarded a $49,108,304 modification… contract for 276 Bradley engineering change proposal 1 kits and installation; and two spare parts kits," the release stated on Friday.
Work on the contract will be carried out over the next two years in Plymouth in the US state of Minnesota, with an estimated completion date of April 30, 2019, the Defense Department said.
On July 5, the Defense Department announced that the US Army was paying an additional $8 million for cost overruns on a project to make engineering changes and evaluation on the Bradley Fighting Vehicle.
