MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Pavel Durov, the founder and the CEO of Telegram, announced on Sunday creation of a team of specialists in Indonesia who would monitor and delete the terrorism-related content from the Telegram messaging app that was recently blocked in the country.
"We are forming a dedicated team of moderators with knowledge of Indonesian language and culture to be able to process reports of terrorist-related content more quickly and accurately," Durov wrote in his Telegram channel.
All the terrorist-related public channels reported by the Ministry of Communication were blocked, while a direct channel between the Ministry and the app's administration was launched to allow a more effective cooperation on "identifying and blocking terrorist propaganda in the future," the app's founder added.
On Friday, the Indonesian Ministry of Communication and IT blocked the Telegram messenger in the country because it was used to spread unlawful content related to terrorism.
