WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Seventy percent of Americans believe US President Donald Trump’s actions as the country’s leader are not fitting of someone in his position, according to a new ABC News/Washington Post poll released on Monday.
Seventy percent of survey respondents said Trump's behavior as president was "unpresidential," while 24 percent said his actions were "fitting and proper."
The poll showed that 38 percent of Republicans believe Trump's conduct has been unpresidential. Among Trump's core support groups, 48 percent of white evangelical Protestants and 55 percent of non-college-educated white men polled said they disapproved of his behavior.
A majority of respondents also had negative responses to Trump's social media posts: 68 percent said his tweets were inappropriate, 65 percent said they were insulting, and 52 percent said they were dangerous.
Additionally, 57 percent of respondents said they like Trump less the more they hear about him, and 29 percent said they liked him more.
The poll was conducted July 10-13 by landline and mobile phone among a random sample of 1,001 US adults. The results have a margin of error of 3.5 points.
