WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The Department of State cannot confirm the United States and Russia are holding talks on implementing additional ceasefires in Syria, she added.
"We are pleased so far at how the ceasefire has been working in southwestern Syria, and at some point hope if and when the time is right, that that’s something that can potentially expand elsewhere," Hauert stated.
On July 13, US President Donald Trump said during a joint press conference with French President Emmanuel Macron that Moscow and Washington were working on a second truce in Syria.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that he was not going to disclose the discussion between US and Russian officials about the possibility of a second ceasefire in Syria.
