US President Donald Trump continues to believe that Iran is not meeting its obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a press briefing on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — On Monday, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has certified to the Congress that Iran is fulfilling responsibilities regarding its nuclear program. However, the Trump administration noted that future sanctions in response to Tehran's human rights violations and ballistic missile activity would be considered.

"His [Trump's] opinions and his feelings on this deal certainly have not changed. He still very much thinks it is a really bad deal and that the Iranians have not been fully complying," Sanders stated.

Sanders noted the Trump cabinet would continue to work on the Iran matter in the future.

The Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015 (INARA) requires the US president to confirm to Congress every 90 days that Tehran is adhering to the terms of the deal. If the administration determines that Iran breached the accord, the United States can re-impose sanctions.
