US to Hold Trilateral Meeting With Japan, South Korea on N. Korea Threat
21:20 GMT 18.07.2017 (Updated: 11:47 GMT 06.08.2022) US, South Korean and Japanese officials will convene in Washington, DC on Wednesday to discuss mutual concerns over the evolving threat in North Korea’s missile and nuclear weapons development program, the Department of State said in a press release.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — "The three plan to exchange views and coordinate policy on a wide range of issues, including the evolving situation in North Korea," the release stated on Tuesday.
US Senior Policy Advisor to the Secretary of State and Director of Policy Planning Brian Hook will hold a trilateral meeting with Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister for Foreign Policy Satoshi Suzuki and South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Director General of the Policy Planning Bureau Ma Sang-Yoon, the release stated.
Hook will also hold bilateral meetings with each of his counterparts, the release added.
