WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The official added that the administration would welcome the Committee's input along the process and welcome suggestions with respect to major concerns.
"To meet the presidents goals, we expect our review to be completed and report submitted by September 15," Sullivan told the panel on Monday.
Sullivan noted that all of the special envoys would be subject to the State Department's redesign review.
Moreover, Sullivan stated while a hiring freeze remains in place, the department would be flexible with positions which support safety and security.
On March 16, the White House rolled out a federal budget blue print for fiscal year 2018 and an outline for the remainder of fiscal year 2017. The budget boosts defense and national security spending and alters funds for the Department of State by more than 30 percent.
