BEIRUT (Sputnik) — According to the Al Mayadeen broadcaster, Syrian aviation attacked the terrorists' sites near the settlements of Flita and Aarsal on the border between Lebanon and Syria.
On Tuesday, Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri said that the government supported the Lebanese army's plans to hold a massive anti-terrorist operation in the area, but noted that there was no coordination between Syrian and Lebanese armed forces.
Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Hezbollah movement, said earlier this month that the militant groups had a chance to leave the Aarsal area, otherwise the would launch an operation to fight them.
The hard-to-reach area has been used for arms smuggling and transit of new terrorist recruits to Syria. It also houses several camps for thousands of Syrian refugees.
