WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — President Donald Trump is disappointed by the political witch hunt with the investigation into Russia's alleged interference in the 2016 US election and hopes it comes to a full conclusion, White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders said in a press briefing on Thursday.
"The president is frustrated by the continuing witch hunt of the Russia investigation and he looks forward for it to come to a full conclusion," Sanders stated.
Trump believes that the clear purpose of the probe should be reviewing Russia's role in the November 8 election, but nothing beyond this matter, Sanders noted. Furthermore, she reiterated the administration's earlier statements that Trump had no ties or financial dealings with Moscow.
Russian officials have repeatedly denied charges of interfering in the US elections, saying the allegations are absurd and represent an attempt to divert the public attention from revealed instances corruption as well as other pressing domestic issues in the United States.
