Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington’s suicide has shaken the world. Broken-hearted fans and colleagues have sent their condolences to the singer’s family, bandmates and LP worldwide community.

American multi-Platinum rock band Linkin Park is considered one of the most renowned and successful bands of the 21st century. Several generations have grown up listening to their music.

The death of the band's singer Chester Bennington, who hung himself at his home in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles on July 20, was a shock to everyone. Fellow band member, Mike Shinoda, was one the first of the group to respond to the devastating news.

Many other celebrities expressed their sincere condolences after the news started to spread.

Chester was only 41 and left six children behind.

"Chester Bennington was an artist of extraordinary talent and charisma, and a human being with a huge heart and a caring soul," Warner Bros. Records' CEO Cameron Strang said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his beautiful family, his bandmates and his many friends. All of us at WBR join with millions of grieving fans around the world in saying: we love you Chester and you will be forever missed."

Ironically, July 20 was the birthday of Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell, a close friend of Bennington, who would have turned 53. Cornell also hanged himself in his hotel room back in May. Upon learning of Cornell's death, the rock singer wrote an open letter to Cornell recalling the impact his friend had on him.

Having struggled with drugs and alcohol for years, Bennington noted that in the past he considered committing suicide due to a history of child molestation.

According to TMZ, the first to report on the LP vocalist's death, Chester did not leave a suicide note in the room.

It was also reported that the singer had plans that day. One of his bandmates showed up at Chester's estate shortly after the police arrived. He said he was going to drive Bennington to a photo shoot and was "absolutely shocked," TMZ reported. The band also had plans to kick off a tour in a week, which made the suicide even more unexpected.

Fans throughout the years have found solace in the repeating themes, exploring depression along with other struggles, of their music. Bennington's lyrics, as well as the band's musical career have inspired the music industry for decades.

Russian fans launched a #RussiaPrayForChester hashtag on Twitter in memory of the singer. The hashtag has been trending on the microblog since then, with over 14,400 tweets.

"My first rock band, my first love, my first and deepest loss, rest in peace legend."

The American rock band released its "Talking To Myself" clip of the song from their latest album just minutes after Chester's body was discovered. The video has already hit nearly 9 million views.
