Losses From Power Equipment Supplies to Russian Firms 'Insignificant' - Siemens
BERLIN (Sputnik) — German conglomerate Siemens is inspecting its Russian partners and global entities for compliance with export restrictions, Siemens financial and business spokesman Philipp Encz told Sputnik on Friday.

"We are working hard to investigate all our partners in Russia, as well as Siemens entities around the world to ensure that nothing is delivered in violation of export control restrictions," Encz said.

Siemens claimed in a statement Friday to have received "credible information" that four gas turbines delivered in mid-2016 to southern Russia's Taman "have since been locally modified and illegally moved to Crimea." This move, Siemens said, "constitutes a blatant breach of Siemens' delivery contracts, trust and EU regulations."

Having suspended power equipment supplies to Russian state firms, Siemens said it is "implementing an additional controls regime that is exceeding legal requirements."

However, the сompany will not name which Russian state firms it plans to suspend power generation equipment supplies to, Encz said.

"Siemens suspends existing supplies to state-controlled companies. We cannot comment on individual companies," financial and business spokesman Philipp Encz said.
