The 13th MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Salon was held from July 18 to July 23 in Zhukovsky, Moscow region. This Russian city is home to robust aviation research and technology, and has one of the longest runways in Europe.
One of the world's largest aviation shows, the MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Salon was held from July 18 to July 23 at the Gromov Flight Research Institute airfield in Zhukovsky, 40 km (25 miles) southeast of Moscow.

The salon’s primary goal is to showcase Russian-made high-tech equipment and demonstrate the openness of the Russian market to joint projects with foreign partners.

A commercial part of the MAKS 2017 International Aviation and Space Salon was held within the first three days of the event. According to the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the sum of the contracts concluded during MAKS 2017 is estimated at 400 billion rubles ($6.7 billion).
