WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said on Wednesday he has no plans to resign from his position and will continue to serve as long as President Donald Trump allows him.
"I am not going anywhere," Tillerson told reporters.
The secretary of state said he has a "good" relationship President Donald Trump and will remain in the current post "as long as the president lets me."
On Monday, CNN reported that Tillerson was considering resigning from the State Department before the end of the year due to growing frustration with the Trump's administration.
The report claimed Tillerson was at odds with the White House over several issues, including the issue of State Department staffing and the policy toward Iran.
