17:00 GMT 27.07.2017 (Updated: 19:31 GMT 19.10.2022) Kendi, the first black rhino born at the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden since 1999, is doing great, and her mom, Seiya, is taking care of her. Even though the baby tries to spar her mother, Seiya remains calm.
Black rhinos are critically endangered, with poaching and habitat loss cited as among the primary threats to the species. One of the oldest known species of mammal, black rhinos are native to Eastern and Central Africa. Fewer than 5,000 black rhinos remain in the world.
