"The capabilities of maritime robotic systems will be displayed at the Komsomolskoe lake and the capabilities of small arms will be shown in the new multipurpose firing center of the Patriot Park," Alexander Mironov said at a meeting of the forum's organizing committee.
In addition, the preparation of 126 events of the forum's scientific and business program is underway, which is 22 more than in 2016, Mironov added.
"In order to improve the quality of the scientific and business program, famous public figures, military experts, chief engineers and leading scientists are invited as moderators," Mironov added.
A total of 47 foreign military delegations, 18 of which will be headed by defense ministers, have confirmed their participation in the forthcoming International Military-Technical Forum Army-2017, set for late August, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said Thursday.
"About 80 enterprises and companies from 14 countries will present their scientific and technical developments and achievements. A total of 47 foreign military delegations, 18 of which are headed by defense ministers, have already confirmed their participation. It is expected that more than 100 foreign delegations will attend the forum," Shoigu said at the meeting of the forum's organizing committee.
"For the first time, the demonstration of the capabilities of modern weapons and military equipment will take place at night… Over the past year, the areas for static exposition have been significantly increased. A total of six demonstration and exhibition centers of the leading enterprises of the military-industrial complex have been built. The exhibition site was prepared at the Kubinka airfield," the minister added.
The scientific and business program will be more saturated, Shoigu continued, adding that the practical application of the Russian Armed Forces, particularly in Syria, will be on the agenda.
On August 22-27, Russia will hold the Army-2017 forum to showcase its high-tech military innovations and achievements. The event is expected to gather a great number of officials and military experts from dozens of countries. The forum will use several venues, including the military-themed Patriot Congress and Exhibition Center, Kubinka airfield and Alabino training ground in the Moscow region.
