WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US Naval Reserve grounded its fleet of 35 C-130T transport aircraft as it investigates the crash of the similar KC-130T flown by the Marine Corps Reserve, Navy Reserve Forces Command spokesman Lt. Russell Chilcoat said in an interview on Friday.

"During the course of an ongoing safety investigation into the tragic Marine Corps mishap in Mississippi involving a KC-130T, an airframe similar to what is flown by our Navy Reserve, the Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve has directed an operational pause for their similar C-130 Fleet," Chilcoat told ABC News.

The Marine Corps had already grounded its 12 transport aircraft due to the crash investigation.

One sailor and 15 Marines were killed on July 10 when a KC-130T crashed in the US state of Mississippi.
