"This year we take part in nine contests. I think that going forward, alongside growth and intensification of this competition we probably will take part in other contests as well," Rodriguez told reporters, adding that currently Venezuelan teams were facing difficulties because some of the contests require military equipment not used by the Latin American country.
Rodriguez added that participation in the Games is important, because it allows to "test the personnel in fair fight."
The 2017 International Army Games, an annual military competition held since 2015 on the initiative of the Russian defense minister, kicked off earlier in the day and will continue through August 12. The competition will be held on the territory of Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China.
