WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — Boeing has won more nearly $18 million to provide the United Arab Emirates with engineering and logistics services for its AH-64D Longbow Apache attack helicopters, the US Department of Defense said in a press release.
"The Boeing Co., Mesa, Arizona, has been awarded a $17,960,940 modification to a Foreign Military Sales (United Arab Emirates) post-production support services and performance based logistics in support of the United Arab Emirates Land Forces Longbow Apache program for a total of 30 AH-64D Apache helicopters," the release said on Monday.
The Apache Longbow carries a 30mm single-barrel automatic cannon under the front portion of its fuselage which fires 625 high-explosive rounds a minute with a capacity of 1,200 rounds, according to published reports. It can carry as many as 16 Hell-Fire missiles for anti-armor missions.
