WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — President Donald Trump confirmed in a statement on Tuesday that he plans to keep using Twitter to speak directly to the American people.
"Only the fake news media and Trump enemies want me to stop using social media (110 million people)," Trump stated in a Twitter message. "Only way for me to get the truth out!"
Despite Trump's claims, recent polls have shown the majority of Americans want the president to stop using Twitter.
A Politico/Morning Consult poll from June 7 found that 69 percent of US voters think Trump uses Twitter too much, and 59 percent think using the social media site hurts US national security.
