A new study from the Pew Research Center has found that the American electorate has skewed towards younger voters, as the number of Generation X and millennial voters outnumbered older voters for the first time in 2016.

The Baby Boomer bloc remains the single largest voter group, with 48.1 million votes representing 35 percent of the electorate. Silent and Greatest Generation voters accounted for fewer than 20 million votes as they grow old and die, while Generation X and millennial voters account for 35.7 and 34 million votes, respectively.
