Impossible to miss with its bright yellow letters, the digital message board, placed to warn drivers about delays and construction projects, caught the attention of drivers along California’s Interstate 80 just before 11 p.m. local time for a very different reason.

According to local authorities, they’re not exactly sure how the transformation took place, since the signs are "locked with a secret password."
Even though most commuters likely did a double take and drove along, the California Department of Transportation isn’t planning on laughing it off. In fact, officials are investigating the matter since tampering with equipment is a felony, the International Business Times reported.
While the sign has since been corrected, this wasn’t the first incident in which US President Donald Trump was called out via traffic signs. Just last year, several road signs along Interstate 30 in Dallas were overridden to show messages like "Donald Trump is a shape-shifting lizard."

Speaking to CBS Sacramento, a Caltrans spokesperson indicated the message board was placed on the interstate as a part of the Pioneer Bridge Project, an initiative launched for bridge upgrades.
