WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — The US economy added 209,000 jobs in July while the unemployment rate remained about the same as the previous month, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said in a report released on Friday.
"Total nonfarm payroll employment increased by 209,000 in July, and the unemployment rate was little changed at 4.3 percent," the report stated.
Most jobs were added in the food services, business and professional services and healthcare sectors.

Around 7 million people remained unemployed, divided evenly at 4 percent for adult men and women, while the unemployment rate for younger people was at 13.2 percent.
The unemployment rate has been steadily declining since mid-2015 but has not changed much in recent months, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said.
