"Raytheon Missile Systems Company [of] Tucson, Arizona is being awarded a $66,441,462… modification for Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) integration, test, and Aegis Ashore support under the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA contract," the release stated on Monday.
Under the contract, Raytheon will continue efforts for engineering services, analysis, and material in support of the SM-3 Block IIA program efforts, including engineering, integration, certification and test efforts and post events assessment support; the Defense Department explained.
The modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $2,073,834,069 from $2,007,392,607, the release added.
The US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is deploying Aegis Ashore anti-ballistic missile systems at bases in Poland and Romania.
