WASHINGTON (Sputnik) – President Donald Trump is seeing his worst job performance numbers ever after 200 days in office, even among his core supporters, a new Politico/Morning Consult poll revealed on Wednesday.
"In a new Morning Consult/Politico survey, 40 percent of registered voters said they approve of Trump’s job performance, while 55 percent disapprove, including 84 percent of Democrats and 57 percent of independents," Morning Consult stated about the poll results.
In a Twitter message this week, Trump said his base was growing stronger, but the poll found only 41 percent of Trump voters strongly approve of his job performance, which is down from 56 percent earlier this year, the poll results noted.
The poll also found just 36 percent of voters think the United States is headed in the right direction, which is also a new low for Trump's presidency.
The poll has a margin of error of two percentage points.
