MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) carried out 45 ground operations and 10 airstrikes in country's various provinces in the past 24 hours, killing at least 51 militants, local media reported on Thursday.
The operations were carried out in particular in Kandahar, Farah, Nangarhar and Badghis provinces, Khaama Press news agency reported, citing the country's Ministry of Defense.
The Afghan armed forces also found and destroyed 18 explosive devices during the operation in the Maiwand district of Kandahar province.
Afghanistan has long been experiencing political, social and security instability, mostly due to the activity of the Taliban and Daesh terror groups, both outlawed in Russia.
